Site coverage study

Measurement in your space, no obligation
Coverage map and point plan
Proposal with scope, timeframe and price

Certified cabling

CAT6A and fibre with certification and warranty
Organised and labelled racks
Out-of-hours installation

Pre-tender measurement

The site survey always comes first. Without measuring the space there is no guarantee of coverage — and we provide a guarantee.

Installation and tuning

Powers and channels defined from the measurements, not by the factory values.

Separate networks

Visitors, operation and management isolated from each other, with their own limits and portal.

Centralised management

Remote controllers, updates and alarm management. The network is monitored, not left to run on its own.

Wireless Computer Networks

Business Wi-Fi

with measured coverage business networks

We design enterprise Wi-Fi networks based on a coverage survey, not by estimation. Access point density is defined according to simultaneous users, building materials and existing interference.

We install Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 with centralised controllers, VLAN segmentation, a separate guest network and a captive portal when required. In the hospitality sector, where the device density per room is high, we scale for peak rather than average usage.

After installation, we measure the actual coverage and deliver the heat map so that what was contracted is documented.

Wi-Fi is no longer an extra — it's where your business works. DataRoad designs and installs corporate wireless networks with full coverage and guaranteed security: on-site coverage surveys, professional equipment and ongoing management. Your team connects and works; visitors have separate, secure access; and the network grows with your business.

Enterprise Wi-Fi networks — installation, coverage and management

Most enterprise Wi-Fi networks were not designed: access points were simply added as complaints arose. The result is too much coverage in some places, too little capacity where people are, and nobody looking after the network once it is installed.

Measured coverage

Site survey on-site before deciding where each access point goes.

Capacity, not just token

Four bars are no use in a room with 80 connected devices.

Separate networks

Visits, operations and equipment on distinct networks, with their own policies.

Managed later

Centralised console and monitoring — we don't just stop at installation.

Coverage is not the same as capacity

It is the most expensive mix-up in enterprise Wi-Fi. An access point can cover an entire room with excellent signal and still stop responding when fifty people connect at the same time. In a training room, a crowded hotel or an open-plan office, what is almost never lacking is signal — it is capacity and channel distribution. That is why we measure on-site, with the space in use, rather than calculating from a floor plan.

How do we do it

1

Site survey
On-site measurement, including the walls, the materials and the people who are there.

2

Project
Number and position of access points, channels, power levels and networks to be created.

3

Installation
Assembly, cabling and PoE, with the points where the design placed them.

4

Validation
New measurement after installation, to confirm what was promised.

5

Management
Centralised console, alerts and continuous tuning under contract.

Equipment we installed

Ubiquiti UniFi

We are a certified Ubiquiti partner. Centralised management of all access points in a single console, group-based policies and real-time visibility. It is the go-to choice for offices, hotels and education.

Cisco Meraki

For larger installations — campuses, multi-sites, advanced security requirements.

Wi-Fi 6 and 6E

Current standards, with a real-world gain where it matters most: high-density environments, where many devices contend for the same channel.

Environments where the network has to cope

Hospitality

Coverage in all rooms and common areas, guest network separate from operations, and an access portal.

Clinics

Clinical equipment, stations and visits on separate networks, with permanent availability.

Warehouses and logistics

Multi-floor and corridor coverage, with roaming that does not drop terminal connections.

Offices and coworking

High density in meeting rooms and open-plan areas, with visitor management.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you carry out a survey before providing a quote?

Yes. Without an on-site survey, there is no serious way of telling how many access points are needed — and that is how oversized and undersized networks are born.

Do they make use of the equipment we already have?

When it makes sense, yes. If the existing equipment doesn't allow centralised management, we state as much — but the decision is up to the client and is recorded in the report.

Do new cables need to be run?

There are almost always some running through, because the access points end up where the design puts them and not where there was a socket. We do the cabling in the same job.

Will you manage the network afterwards?

Yes, in IT Unlimited contracts. The network is managed via the centralised console, with alerts and continuous tuning.

Ubiquiti UniFi, since 2015

We have been working with Ubiquiti equipment in Portugal since 2015 and we are manufacturer-certified partners, with certified UniFi technicians. It is not a brand we resell — it is the platform on which we have installed and manage the majority of the wireless networks we currently support.

Eleven years of installing the same platform changes what can be guaranteed. We know the actual behaviour of access points in difficult spaces: old walls, adjoining hotel rooms, clinic raised access floors, warehouses with metal shelving. We size them based on measurements we take on-site, not the manufacturer's data sheet.

  • Ubiquiti Certified Partner — the certification is in our name, not that of an intermediary supplier.
  • Installations since 2015 in hotels, clinics, offices, embassies and public buildings.
  • Centralised management of the networks we installed: controller, updates and alarm monitoring are on us.

A recent example: Women's Clinic, in the Twin Towers — 192 network points, Wi-Fi 7 and firewall. And the UniFi certification announcement.
