Routing cables through buildings that weren't designed for it
Much of Lisbon's office space is in decades-old buildings, where the ductwork has already carried telephone lines, alarm systems, audio cables and three generations of network wiring. The job starts with figuring out what is actually there and what can still be salvaged, and it is rarely what is shown on the floor plan.
We do structured cabling in CAT6 and CAT6A, with routing decided on-site, cable trays where the false ceiling does not allow passage, and each point certified with Fluke and delivered in a report. The work is carried out with the office remaining operational: floor by floor, zone by zone, and outside normal hours when that is the only way to ensure nobody has to stop working.
Wi-Fi coverage in open-plan areas and closed rooms
An office floor in Lisbon typically combines open-plan space, closed meeting rooms and one or two private offices with walls that WiFi cannot penetrate. We installed enterprise wireless networks after measuring the coverage on-site, not after estimating it on a floor plan. WiFi 6 and WiFi 7, roaming between access points so that a call doesn't drop on the way to the meeting room, and a guest network separate from the company network.
We work in Lisbon from Alfragide, with our own on-site team — the same one that carries out the construction work and subsequently ensures maintenance.
