New Hotel – Ouro Rossio Hotel in Restauradores has chosen DataRoad to implement a complete IT infrastructure, a wireless network with 30 Wi-Fi access points, a video surveillance system with 55 cameras, an enterprise firewall, a connection to the Altice data center, and a permanent “IT Unlimited Premium” IT support contract

A comprehensive project, from infrastructure to ongoing support

“DataRoad: IT specialists for hotels in Lisbon”

The project was developed and implemented entirely by DataRoad—from the technical specifications and equipment procurement to the installation, configuration, testing, and training of the hotel staff. DataRoad assumed full responsibility for the property’s technology solution, located in a 6-story building in the heart of Lisbon.

The solution implemented included:

30 wireless access points — full, cloud-managed Wi-Fi coverage on all floors, in all rooms, common areas, the restaurant, and service areas, with continuous monitoring and complete separation between the guest network and the hotel’s operational network — protecting management systems, POS, PMS, and video surveillance from unauthorized access.

55 CCTV surveillance cameras — comprehensive coverage of the hotel, including entrances, hallways, the front desk, the parking lot, and outdoor areas, with continuous recording, secure storage, and remote access.

10 high-performance network switches — a distributed switching infrastructure spanning the building’s 6 floors, ensuring stable, redundant, and highly available connectivity at all critical points.

Enterprise firewall — a perimeter security solution that includes internet access management, protection against external threats, VPN, network segmentation, and traffic control based on user profiles.

Dedicated connection to the Altice data center — configuration and integration of the connection to the Altice data center, ensuring redundant Internet access, high availability, and operational continuity for the hotel’s critical systems even in the event of a failure of the primary connection.

Full implementation and management of Microsoft 365 — configuration, migration, and management of the hotel teams’ cloud-based productivity and communication environment.

Workstations — supply, setup, and management of all computer equipment for the reception, administration, and operations teams.

UPS — uninterruptible power supply systems — protect all critical infrastructure against power failures, ensuring full operational continuity even during power outages.

DataRoad: Experts in Wireless Networks for Hotels

A wireless network is the technological backbone of any modern hotel—and one of the most challenging infrastructures to design, implement, and manage properly. A poorly sized network means dissatisfied guests, negative reviews, and reputational damage that no hotel can afford.

Over the course of a decade, DataRoad has developed its own proven methodology for wireless projects in the hospitality industry, based on three fundamental pillars: full coverage with no dead zones, network security with complete isolation, and a frictionless guest experience.

Each project begins with a building-specific coverage study and radio frequency planning—ensuring a stable, consistent, and high-speed signal in all rooms and common areas, without interference or complaints.

The guest network is always configured to be completely isolated from the hotel's operational network—protecting management systems, point-of-sale systems, the property management system, and video surveillance cameras from any unauthorized access.

The wireless systems implemented by DataRoad are managed in the cloud, monitored 24 hours a day, and proactively updated—without any need for intervention by hotel staff. When something falls outside the expected parameters, DataRoad is the first to know—and the first to resolve the issue.

IT Unlimited — Support That Never Stops, for the Hotel That Never Closes

Following the completion of the implementation, the hotel signed an IT Unlimited contract with DataRoad—the ongoing IT management service that ensures the stability, security, and availability of the entire installed technology infrastructure, every day of the year.

IT Unlimited includes unlimited on-site, remote, and telephone IT support; 24/7 monitoring and alerts; proactive management of all systems; immediate response in the event of an incident; and ongoing preventive maintenance—all for a fixed monthly fee, with no contract commitment and on-site visits included.

For a hotel that operates around the clock, this solution isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. Any technological failure—whether in the check-in system, the guest network, or the security cameras—has a direct and immediate impact on the guest experience, the hotel’s reputation, and its operating results. With DataRoad, that risk is eliminated.
