Reltio (U.S., California) has chosen DataRoad to install computer cabling in Lisbon, set up a corporate firewall and Wi-Fi with access points, and supply Dell and Apple workstations

DataRoad Selected by Reltio to Install a Computer Network, Wi-Fi, and Firewall at Its New Office in Lisbon

DataRoad was selected by Reltio to install and upgrade the IT cabling, as well as to implement the IT network and wireless system at its new office in Lisbon, ensuring the performance, security, and continuity of its information systems from the very first day of operation.

This project reinforces DataRoad’s position as a trusted technology partner for growing international organizations, delivering comprehensive solutions in networking, cybersecurity, and managed IT services (MSP) —from design and implementation to ongoing maintenance and support.

Featured Project: End-to-end network infrastructure for an office of approximately 400 m², including structured cabling, a server rack/equipment room, corporate Wi-Fi, a firewall, and the provision of workstations.

Infrastructure designed for growth: cabling, equipment room, Wi-Fi, and security

DataRoad's Networking and IT Consulting team will install, configure, and implement a comprehensive solution, including:

  • Installation of computer cabling for 107 network ports
  • Setup of a computer lab and server room (organization and protection of the infrastructure)
  • Implementation of a wireless network with multiple access points, covering approximately 400 m²
  • Firewall Installation for Network Protection and Segmentation
  • Provision of workstations for employees

DataRoad’s approach prioritizes performance, scalability, and ease of management: the infrastructure is designed to accommodate new teams, more devices, and future needs without having to start from scratch—a critical factor in dynamic technology environments.

Corporate Wi-Fi and Structured Networking: Productivity, Mobility, and Stability

In a modern office, Wi-Fi is no longer “just the internet”—it’s part of the critical infrastructure. That’s why DataRoad implements enterprise wireless networks with a focus on:

  • Consistent coverage throughout the entire usable area (rooms, open-plan spaces, and common areas)
  • Support for multiple simultaneous users
  • Centralized management (policies, optimization, and visibility)
  • Preparation for future integrations (meeting rooms, VoIP, IoT, and business equipment)

At the same time, structured cabling (107 points) ensures stable connections for fixed workstations, peripherals, meeting rooms, critical equipment, and future expansions.

Enterprise Firewall: Network Protection and Access Control

The installation of the firewall is part of the office's security strategy, protecting the network from external threats, enabling traffic control and access policies, and preparing the environment for best practices in IT security.

When combined with a well-segmented network and properly configured enterprise Wi-Fi, this layer adds resilience and reduces operational risk—especially in fast-growing companies with multiple teams and a reliance on cloud services.

Who is Reltio: A cloud-based data platform and leader in Master Data Management

Reltio is a U.S. company founded in 2011 and headquartered in the Redwood City, California, area, known for its cloud-native (SaaS) platform designed for the unification and management of critical data (MDM).

In 2022, Reltio was ranked #2 on The Software Report’s “Top 25 Data Software Companies of 2022” list, an honor that was published and widely covered by industry media outlets.

Among its products, Reltio Identity 360 stands out: it aggregates data from multiple sources, removes duplicates, and creates a “single source of truth” and a universal identifier for profiles, enabling consistent omnichannel experiences.

The company also notes that its client base includes leading organizations in fields such as life sciences, healthcare, hotel groups, and global brands, with a significant presence among major international companies.

Why this project is important: “ready-to-use” technology from day one

When an international company sets up a new office, there are three key objectives from an IT perspective:

  1. A Smooth Start: Stable Network and Wi-Fi for Teams and Operations
  2. Security by Design: Border Protection (Firewall), Rules, and Best Practices
  3. Scalability: growing rapidly without compromising the technology infrastructure

DataRoad addresses these objectives with an integrated model: installation, configuration, documentation, and ongoing support and management capabilities—reducing friction, implementation time, and the risk of downtime.

Backup and Disaster Recovery: What an SME Needs to Know

Many small and medium-sized businesses only discover that their backup isn’t working at the worst possible moment: when they actually need it. The difference between a few hours of downtime and permanent data loss almost always lies in how the backup and disaster recovery strategy was planned—not just executed. Backup is not the same as disaster recovery. A backup is a copy of the data. A

In-House IT Department vs. Outsourcing: A Comparison of Costs and Benefits

When an SME reaches a certain volume of IT support requests, the same question always arises: Is it worth hiring an in-house IT technician, or does it make more sense to keep—or start using—an external vendor on a retainer basis? There is no one-size-fits-all answer, but there are objective criteria that can help you decide. The actual cost of an in-house technician Salary is only part of the picture

Signs That Your Company Needs to Switch IT Providers

Switching IT vendors is a decision that many companies put off—out of fear of the transition, out of inertia, or simply because “that’s just how it’s been for years.” But there are clear signs that a provider is no longer meeting the company’s needs, and recognizing them early prevents support issues from turning into business problems. 1. Cybersecurity Checklist for SMEs in Portugal

Most cyberattacks on Portuguese SMEs do not target large corporations—they target smaller companies, precisely because, on average, they have fewer defenses in place. This checklist outlines the essential protections that any SME should have in place, regardless of its industry. 1. What Is an MSP and Why Are Portuguese Companies Choosing to Outsource IT?

More and more Portuguese companies—especially SMEs with between 10 and 200 employees—are replacing the traditional model of “calling a technician when something breaks” with a contract with an MSP (Managed Service Provider). But what exactly is an MSP, and why is this model growing so rapidly in Portugal? What Is an MSP? An MSP is a specialized company that takes on,

How Much Does IT Support Cost for a Company in Portugal?

One of the first questions any manager asks before hiring IT support is simple: how much will it cost? The answer isn’t a single figure—it depends on the number of workstations, the criticality of the systems, and the desired service level. But it is possible to provide a realistic estimate based on the most commonly used contracting models in Portugal. The two most common models: one-time fee vs. monthly retainer
