STEN, with offices in Barcelona, selects DataRoad to set up its new office in Portugal – IT network installation – IT cabling and wireless network

STEN, a company headquartered in Barcelona with offices in Poland and Andorra, chose DataRoad to install the computer network and wireless network at its new office in Portugal.

What did the project entail?

The installation included all the network infrastructure needed to launch STEN’s new facility in Portugal:

  • About 18 wireless access points, providing complete coverage of the space;
  • Installation of racks for organizing the network infrastructure;
  • Behind-the-scenes fiber-optic connection, ensuring high transmission capacity between different areas of the building.

Why Does the Backstage Fiber Connection Make a Difference?

In installations with more than one rack, the way these racks communicate with each other has a direct impact on the performance of the entire network. A fiber-optic connection between racks offers higher bandwidth and is less susceptible to electromagnetic interference than traditional copper cabling, which is especially important in office spaces with a high density of devices connected to the wireless network. This approach ensures that network performance remains consistent throughout the building, regardless of the distance between racks.

About STEN

Backup and Disaster Recovery: What an SME Needs to Know

The difference between a few hours of downtime and permanent data loss almost always lies in how the backup and disaster recovery strategy was planned—not just executed. Backup is not the same as disaster recovery. A backup is a copy of the data. A

Signs That Your Company Needs to Switch IT Providers

Switching IT vendors is a decision that many companies put off—out of fear of the transition, out of inertia, or simply because “that’s just how it’s been for years.” But there are clear signs that a provider is no longer meeting the company’s needs, and recognizing them early prevents support issues from turning into business problems. 1. Increasingly long response times If a request

How Much Does IT Support Cost for a Company in Portugal?

One of the first questions any manager asks before hiring IT support is simple: how much will it cost?
