What did the project entail?
The installation included all the network infrastructure needed to launch STEN’s new facility in Portugal:
- About 18 wireless access points, providing complete coverage of the space;
- Installation of racks for organizing the network infrastructure;
- Behind-the-scenes fiber-optic connection, ensuring high transmission capacity between different areas of the building.
Why Does the Backstage Fiber Connection Make a Difference?
In installations with more than one rack, the way these racks communicate with each other has a direct impact on the performance of the entire network. A fiber-optic connection between racks offers higher bandwidth and is less susceptible to electromagnetic interference than traditional copper cabling, which is especially important in office spaces with a high density of devices connected to the wireless network. This approach ensures that network performance remains consistent throughout the building, regardless of the distance between racks.
